Our Curriculum
Our goal is to inspire educators with the brain science and logic of moving for improved learning and behavior. Our Curriculum and Playbook are designed to empower teachers with the tools they need to get their students moving to fill the play gap that is keeping kids from mastering everything from self-regulation and self-control to those meaty classroom necessities like holding a book or a pencil, sitting still in a chair, and holding letters still on a page. With up to 2 hours of professional development included in our model, teachers will walk away with the confidence to stand their ground and defend the developmental importance of big-body physical play. The curriculum: Our curriculum has been vetted by hundreds of preschoolers for almost 25 years. It is easy to implement and is known to elicit squeals of delight and sweaty, happy, out-of-breath children. The professional development: Our professional development has been delivered at numerous conferences including several NAEYC national conferences, NAEYC’s Learning Lab, NAEYC’s Professional Learning Institute, the International Play Association Triennial Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, numerous meetings of the U.S. Play Coalition Conference and countless state and regional early childhood conferences like SECA, VAAEYC, MIAEYC, LAECE, SCECA, and more. Additionally, we are humbled to have helped schools across the country change their culture and learn about the power of play through consulting and deep-dive trainings. Learn more here.

The 2-Year-Old Package
The 2-year-old year in particular is a wonderful year to begin structured big-body play that requires single-step directions, auditory practice, and gross motor development. It is during this year that many children learn to jump, begin to run like a child rather than a toddler, acquire more upper body strength, and start to learn their bodies can be tools for them to use intentionally. They revel in the exploration of these options and the more opportunity they have to use their bodies, the more confidence they will gain in what their bodies can do in and out of the classroom. Curious about what it takes? Feel free to download the full equipment list below. Keep in mind, you don’t have to buy it all at one time and we do our best to offer all kinds of alternatives!
3-year-old and 4-year-old packages
Our 3-year-old and 4-year-old packages evolve and raise the bar as the children become more capable and ready to challenge both their bodies and brains. Incorporating bigger physical and skill-based challenges, more strategic work, and introducing teamwork challenges, our games hone those strengths and skills needed for classroom success.
These packages are for individual classroom use. If you are interested in purchasing in bulk for multiple classrooms, please contact Kelsey.Schmidt@pivottoplay.com
