This game is best accomplished outside where there is lots of space to move, but there are small space options!

Corral children at one end of the play space and designate another line, space or cones as far away as possible for children to run around or touch before returning to the place where they started.

Number cards 1-6 and give each child one card with one number on it.

Toss a die in the air and let it land.  Any child who is holding a card with the number that lands up, will run to the target and return.  Repeat over and over until all children have had a chance to run.

Change Ups:  To scaffold this up, add a second die and subtract one die from the other. Children holding a card with that new number on it will run. Repeat.

Or give all children a second card and roll two dice, allowing the children to add the two dice together.  Those children holding cards that add up to the new number will run.

If you are limited on space, instead of running, consider a different locomotor movement like hopping, bear crawling or crab walking.
