Topic 3: Visual Awareness

Children’s eyes get stronger and more well controlled with the opportunity to move them.  Play, particularly outdoor play, gives those eye muscles an opportunity to build strength with ample time to move in all planes and directions, with an expansive visual field.  Alternatively, fixed focus on a screen or lots of desk work, does not allow the eye muscles to flex and strengthen because there is less opportunity to move the eyes freely.
