Topic 5: Why Is It Important, What Does It Look Like and How Can I Help?

 

When we can control what our arms and hands are doing then we can more easily tackle our everyday chores and tasks.  

But we cannot discount the importance of the rest of the upper body to school performance.  A strong neck, supported by strong shoulders help us hold up the heaviest part of the body:  the head.  When we can comfortably hold up the head, then holding a book is easier, sitting still to listen to the teacher is more comfortable and controlling the head when we look down to write is more achievable.
