Topic 4: How Does this Impact Classroom Success?

Intricately connected to visual and auditory processing, the vestibular system helps us filter out distractions and focus. Through experience, when we build new neural connections, as previously discussed, we associate hearing and sound with a meaning. We use our vision to anchor our brains to space and where we are in it. The powerful vestibular system manages all of this and more, making the vestibular system the key to learning and if we don’t get kids moving to stimulate the vestibular system, the learning door is going to be very hard to open.
